¿Y si pudiéramos comer un pixel? (What If We Could Eat a Pixel?)
¿Y si pudiéramos comer un pixel? (What If We Could Eat a Pixel?) is a work for soprano saxophone, accordion, electronics and video that imagines, through a tone of apparent naivety, an absurd utopia: the possibility of transforming the pixels on a screen into food. From this fantasy, the piece articulates a critique of a deeply contradictory contemporary reality: in a world where access to digital infrastructure is more widespread than access to basic nourishment, the virtual seems to circulate more easily than the material.

The work begins with a poetic text that speculates on a kind of “digital photosynthesis,” in which the light from the screen becomes nutrient and the pixel turns into an edible, cubic and refined unit. This imaginary world unfolds musically and visually through a combination of AI-generated images, references to the food logic of video games, and audiovisual materials taken from the internet —including videos of compulsive consumption and mukbang—, configuring a landscape that is as seductive as it is disturbing.
Between irony, satire and technological fable, the piece confronts the promise of digital abundance with the persistence of real hunger. What initially presents itself as a futuristic and delirious solution ultimately reveals the political background of the work: the obscene disproportion between the ubiquity of devices and the precariousness of the material conditions of life.
